Effective copy starts from the searcher's intent, not from the language a company uses internally. A consulting firm that writes "we optimise business processes through a data-driven approach" is talking to itself, not to the client searching for a solution to a concrete problem: costs too high, timelines too long, one department that doesn't communicate with another. Writing "we cut delivery times by 30% by eliminating manual handoffs between departments" answers a real question, with a measurable outcome. This kind of copy is also what generative search engines read and cite today, favouring clear, specific content over generic text written to sound authoritative.
Copy also needs to be calibrated to the correct length for each page. A service landing page doesn't need a thousand words if the first hundred already answer the user's question: what you do, for whom, what it costs, how to get started. Excess content, added to "seem more thorough," dilutes the message instead of strengthening it. A short, direct page beats a long, vague one. The same rule applies to who we are and how we work: concrete facts, not slogans.
Security: trust is lost in a second
Website security is almost always treated as an invisible technical requirement, something "the developer handles" that has nothing to do with the business. That's a mistake. The technology chosen directly affects this outcome. A project built with React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS, hosted on infrastructure designed for performance, starts from a different technical baseline than a generic WordPress theme weighed down by plugins. That doesn't mean WordPress or Shopify are the wrong choice: for many projects, they're the correct foundation. It means the stack needs to be chosen based on the specific project, not out of habit or because "it's what the agency knows how to do," and that whatever the choice, performance needs to be measured, not assumed.
